Bedekovich Lőrinc Association of People's Academy

The Association was founded on the 20th of December 1993 by twenty founder members and nine supporting members.

The aims of the Association are to help the organization of the local community, the local people's academy; and to be the forum of forming the skills needed by individual and communal social initiatives and the civic knowledge essential to form the local government.

In the interest of realizing the set aims the Association builds up relationship with different social and economic organizations, entrepreneurs and enterprises, institutions, national and international people's academy's movements. The themes of the programs are varied (professional, practical, cultural, artistic, sanitary), the character of the sections are evening and weekend. The topics of the programs are agricultural enterprises, family and health protection, computer operator and language courses, traditional craftsman classes, exhibitions, markets and artistic programs.

The purpose of all the People's Academy's trainings is a kind of making pretensions, forming approach. Making pretensions to knowledge which could be made good use in the jobs of the individual.

Lőrinc Bedekovich Snr. – Surveyor of the Jászkun districts

(8th August 1751 - 23rd November 1823)

After had been in a noble family in Jászapáti, he settled down with his wife called Pruzsinszky Erzsébet in Jászfényszaru.

“Lőrinc Bedekovich, the first surveyor of the Jászkun districts graduated in geodesy engineering at the Institute of Engineer Sciences”. – can be read in the minutes of the general assembly of the Jászkun districts on the 1st and 2nd of June 1779., in Jászberény. All the three districts adopted his employing as a districts surveyor.

The guarding against wild-waters and ancient swamps in the valley of Zagyva and Tarna, and on the Jászkunság territory; land drainage and starting the flood-relief works; the control of rivers Zagyva and Tarna, draining swamps, building canals and dams are all linked with his name.

More than ninety great hydrographic charts, had been left to the posterity, are valuable parts of the treasure of our settlement's history. He was expert in planning and constructing sluices and gates, needed by watermills and in road construction.

Lőrinc Bedekovich, an excellent map-maker, experienced designer and hydraulic engineer was a acknowledged person of his age. The Triple Districts chose him a honorary judge of the Court of Appeal. His burial took place in Jászfényszaru, in 1823.

Jászfényszaru

Jászfényszaru is situated on the meeting point of Pest, Heves and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties, on the bank of the River Zagyva. It is a a settlement with a long history. The town (together with many other) got its name after the Jász people who were invited into the basin of Zagyva by King Béla the 4th after the Tatar invasion in the 13rd century.

The inhabitants of the town had been working in the agriculture, industry, mainly light industry has been setteld down here since the 1970s. Since the 1980s additional processing industry of wood, metal, electronic and agriculture has been established. Parallel with this, human infrastructure, the sercive sector and the vocational training also have been developed. Jászfényszaru is easy top reach because its favourable geographical conditions and location.

There are about 3.000 people working out of the 6.000 inhabitants. The population is about 80.000 people in the 20 km district of Jászfényszaru.

The aim of the town is to establish the development in the long run. To reach this goal, the whoule infrastructure has built in the past years. The realisation of the basic tasks of the local government and the development of the civil sector are assured by stabile institutional background.

The industrial area is situated in the north of the town, right by the Road 32 between Szolnok and Hatvan. The industrial park is 60 km far from Budapest, 15 km from the Motorway 3, with driving up and down to it at Hatvan. The railway is 1.5 km far with lay-by and loading possibilities. The Airport Ferihegy is 55 km far.

The infrastructure of the Industrial Park occupying an area of 12.6 hectares was built with the aid of Phare, GFC and TFC. Parallel with the developing of infrastructure, a 125 square meter office block and a 1.000 square meter storehouse without heating and heat insulation were built up with the financial aid of Phare.
